Lacrosse Honoring 10 for Senior Day in Home Finale Against SDSULacrosse Honoring 10 for Senior Day in Home Finale Against SDSU
TEMPE– Sun Devil Lacrosse (9-6, 2-1) will host its final home game of the 2025 season on Saturday, April 19 against San Diego State (5-9, 0-3) at 12 p.m. MST. The team will celebrate 10 graduating seniors in a postgame ceremony. A win on Saturday would mark the 7th of the season in Tempe and be the most in a season in program history.

Sun Devil attackers will  have a chance to reach more season milestones, as Jordyn Behar is six points shy of claiming the program's single-season point record and is eight points away from hitting the 100 mark in her career. With one goal against SDSU, Teagan Ng will become the program's first 60-goal scorer in a season. Both Ng and Behar hold on to single-season goal and assist records, respectively.

Sun Devil Outlook:
The Sun Devils ended a two-game skid with a road victory over UC Davis last weekend. The team notched 20 goals on UC Davis' reigning Big 12 Goalie of the Week, and held their leading scorer, the reigning Big 12 Attacker of the Week scoreless. Viglione earned her fourth Big 12 Midfielder of the Week after 13 draw controls in the win, which set the single-season record.

ASU has a trio of Devils in the NCAA leaderboards, as Behar's 52 assists are 3rd in the NCAA, and Anna Viglione's 171 draw controls are second in the league. Ng's 59 goals have her at 4th in the NCAA. Because of Viglione's dominance, ASU has the second most draw controls per game in the NCAA, averaging over 18 per game.

Scouting the Opponent:
SDSU brings a six-game losing streak to Tempe after winning four of their first five games this season. The team sits at 5-9 on the year with an 0-3 record  in conference play, losing to UC Davis, Colorado, and Florida.

Four of the five wins this season for the Aztecs have come on the road.

All-time against SDSU, ASU is 5-3 in eight games and has won four of the last five contests. ASU has not lost to the Aztecs at home in three games. ASU averages 16.5 goals per game against SDSU, allowing 11.8.

Sun Devil Notables:
  • ASU is averaging 15.14 goals per game, which is the best offensive mark in the Big 12, and the 14th best mark in the NCAA.
  • A win on Saturday would pass the 2024 season total, 9, with one game remaining.
  • If ASU picks up another home win on Saturday, the team will have 7 wins in Tempe which is the most in a season in program history.
  • ASU's 18.40 draw controls per game are the second best in the NCAA and have them atop the Big 12 ranks.
  • Junior attacker Jordyn Behar is five points away from setting the program's single-season record, held by Emily Glagolev who had 86 points in 2022.
  • If ASU can secure its 10th win of the season against SDSU, it would be the program's third double-digit win total in eight seasons, and the first under Taryn VanThof.
  • With an ASU win and both an SDSU and UD Davis loss this weekend, ASU would clinch a berth in the inaugural Big 12 Tournament.
