DAVIS– Sun Devil Lacrosse (8-6, 1-1) wrapped up a three-game home stretch and will now hit the road to face off against Big 12 opponent, UC Davis (5-7, 1-1) on Saturday, April 12. The game will be streamed on YouTube, and the first draw is slated for 1 p.m. MST. ASU will meet its former Pac-12 foe in Davis, California for the first time since 2020 in the inaugural meeting between the programs.

Saturday will be the fifth meeting all-time between the two programs, with ASU undefeated in all four of the previous contests. In the four meetings, the Sun Devils have averaged 8 goals per game while holding UC Davis to 12 goals per game.

Sun Devil Outlook:
The Sun Devils have dropped three of their last four contests, to Marquette, No. 7 Maryland, and Colorado, marking the first Big 12 loss of the season. The last three losses for ASU have been by a combined six goals.

ASU has a pair of Devils in the NCAA leaderboards, as Jordyn Behar's 51 assists are the most in the NCAA, and Anna Viglione's 158 draw controls lead the league.  Because of Viglione's dominance, ASU has the second most draw controls per game in the NCAA, averaging over 18 per game. The sophomore is also 10 draw controls shy of setting the program's single-season record.

Scouting the Opponent:
The Aggies are 5-7 on the year and have just one win at home in five games. The lone win came against Oregon to open the month of March. Despite their early woes, UC Davis has won their last two games against Butler and Cincinnati.

Like ASU, UC Davis is 1-1 in Big 12 play with their win over the Bearcats, and loss coming against the Florida Gators.

After the two wins last weekend, three Aggies players earned Big 12 weekly awards, as they secured Attack, Midfielder, and Goalie honors.

Last season UC Davis did not qualify for the Pac-12 Tournament.

Sun Devil Notables:
  • A win on Saturday would tie the program's 2024 win total with two games remaining this season.
  • ASU is averaging 14.79 goals per game, which is the best offensive mark in the Big 12, and the 15th best mark in the NCAA.
  • Sophomore midfielder Anna Viglione is 10 draw controls away from breaking Zoe Mazur's single-season draw control record set last season
  • Junior attacker Teagan Ng is 6 goals away from setting the single-season goal record, 58, set by Carley Adams in 2021.
  • ASU's 18.36 draw controls per game are the second best in the NCAA and have them atop the Big 12 ranks.
  • Junior attacker Jordyn Behar is nine points away from setting the program's single-season record, held by Emily Glagolev who had 86 points in 2022.
