BATON ROUGE – Jayden Davis' ascension to stardom continues for Sun Devil Track & Field.
At the Battle on the Bayou in Baton Rouge, Davis won the Men's 400m in 45.23, setting the country's fastest time in the Outdoor season so far this spring. Davis was responsible for the lone Sun Devil title this weekend before inclement weather canceled the rest of the meet on Saturday afternoon.

Due to weather conditions, the Men's discus, Women's 4x400 and Men's 4x400 were canceled. The Sun Devils were slated to compete in all three events.
The Sun Devils totaled a trio of top-three finishes at LSU's Bernie Moore Track Stadium. In addition to Davis' title, Evaline Chepkoech (800m) and Ines Lopez (discus) each took third. Alex Johnson had a pair of top-10 finishes across Friday and Saturday, taking fifth in the long jump and seventh in the triple jump. The Sun Devil sophomore, who qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships last season, continues to be a rising, up-and-coming presence for the Sun Devils.
Brandon Lloyd, who was sixth in the shot put on Saturday morning, was denied a quest for a title in the discus later in the afternoon due to rain. He had entered the meet having posted the second-best mark amongst all members of the field behind only Kansas' Dimitrios Pavlidis.
