TEMPE – After 11 games at home, No. T7 Sun Devil Water Polo (17-5, 1-2 MPSF) has their last match of the season at home as they face off against No. 18 San Jose State (11-10, 0-3) at Mona Plummer Aquatics Center at 1 p.m. Live stats will be available on 6-8 sports and streaming on Overnght.

The Sun Devil Water Polo program will honor two seniors ahead of the match, goaltender Marie Rudasics and utility Molly Ostrowski, who have both been with the program for all four years. 

SUN DEVIL OUTLOOK
Arizona State (17-5, 1-2 MPSF)
  • Arizona State will honor senior goaltender Marie Rudasics and utility Molly Ostrowski ahead of Saturday's match. 
  • The Sun Devils currently outscore opponents by a margin of five points per game this season and average 15 goals a game.
  • The Sun Devils score more goals in the first period and boast their largest differential in scoring than in any other period. They have 92 goals to their opponent's 52 in the first period and have a 17-1 record when leading after the first. Similarly, they are 17-0 when up through three quarters.  
  • Arizona State's offense is anchored by junior attacker Millie Quin. Quin is ranked in six separate MPSF top ten rankings, including third in goals and points on the season. (73 & 91)
OPPONENT OUTLOOK
No. 18 San Jose State (11-10, 0-3)
  • San Jose State is on pace to have their best regular season record since 2016. (17-15, 1-5)
  • This will be the first match up between San Jose State and Arizona State this season – 40th all time meeting.
  • The Spartan's offense is led by forward Darcy Spark who totals 61 goals on the season on 50% shooting percentage. She has also tallied multiple goal scoring games in all but five games this season – with five games scoring five or more goals in a single game. 
LAST TIME OUT
The Maroon and Gold were able to take their first conference win of the season last weekend when they defeated No. 10 Indiana, 16-11. Millie Quin stole the show recording a career-high 7 goals en route to the top-10 victory. The defensive presence against the Hoosiers saw season-high's in team steals and field blocks. In goal, Freshman goaltender Keri Glad was a brick wall and recorded 13 saves with a 54.3% save percentage.

HISTORY VS THE SPARTANS (29-10)
The Sun Devils and the Spartans are no strangers to each other as they have gone head-to-head at least once every season since 2004. ASU is currently on an 11 game win stream that dates back to 2019. The last time the two teams saw one another was last season when ASU traveled to San Jose and defeated San Jose State 15-10 in regulation. This was the team's first conference win last season. When the two teams have faced off at home, the Sun Devils have a winning record of 13-7.  

MPSF PLAYER OF THE WEEK - MILLIE QUIN
Millie Quin was named MPSF Player of the Week for the first time this season after her seven goal career-high performance against No. 10 Indiana. She was instrumental in lifting the Sun Devils to their first conference win last weekend against the Hoosiers where she scored seven of ASU's 16 goals. She tacked on an assist for an eight point game, her second eight point game of the season which were coincidentally both against Indiana. She also had a season-high five steals and a block. 

MPSF STAT LEADERS
The MPSF stats leader board is littered with Maroon and Gold as five individuals rank among fellow conference members. Millie Quin sits in third for goals and points with 73 and 91 respectively. She also has 26 steals which puts her at sixth. Itziar Almeda has 50 goals (eighth place) and 30 assists (fifth place) for a combined 80 points (sixth place). In net, Keri Glad has saved 106 shots, leaving her in sixth place for saves and she also boasts a 63.47% for save percentage which sits her in fourth place. Sanne Keijzer sits in eight for her 71 saves. Senior Marie Rudasics has the second highest save percentage in the conference at 67.31%.
