LEXINGTON, Kentucky – No. 20 Sun Devil Men's Tennis (3-1) handed the Nebraska Cornhuskers (2-1) their first loss of the season, after Friday's 4-2 defeat in the Lexington Regional of ITA Kickoff Weekend. ASU will play in the Championship match against No. 12 Kentucky at 2 p.m. MST, with a spot at the ITA Indoor National Championships on the line.

For the first time in four matches this season, ASU did not earn the doubles point and faced a one point deficit going into singles.

The Sun Devils did not back down, and instead won three of their next four singles matches, including senior transfer Mathis Bondaz who earned his first victory in the Maroon & Gold.

A 3-2 lead was in store for ASU after the first four courts of play, as Kentucky's Hillary J. Boone Tennis Complex can only play four courts at once. After a wait, Daniel Phillips battled for a straight-set victory to clinch the match for the Sun Devils and send ASU to the Championship match.
