TEMPE – To start the 2025 season, Sun Devil Gymnastics will participate in the Lone Star Collegiate Invitational in San Antonio this Saturday at 12 p.m. MST/1 p.m. CST, competing alongside Auburn, Maryland, Penn State and Temple.
With five teams competing in the Freeman Coliseum, each team will get a bye. Arizona State's bye will be in the first rotation and will then start on bars and go in order from there (beam, floor, vault).

- The Gym Devils have three gymnasts on the 2025 Big 12 Preseason Team. Graduate Jada Mangahas received a nod in the all-around, graduate Sarah Clark is on the beam team and graduate Emily White is honored for both beam and floor.
- Between the three fifth years, they had 26 scores of 9.9 or better last year, led by 12 from White. They also have 16 combined event titles in 2024.
- Other contributors returning in 2025 are senior Alex Theodorou, juniors Kimberly Smith and Kayla Lee, and sophomores Halle Gregoire and Lilia Purler.

- Started the season at the American Gold Collegiate Championship in Nashville, where the Tigers finished in second place with a 195.950, beating No. 23 Nebraska and BYU.
- In 2024, Auburn went 12-17 and qualified for NCAA Regionals, ending the year ranked No. 20 on Road to Nationals.
- In the all-time series, ASU leads Auburn 6-1. The two teams last met in 2020 at a quad meet, with ASU taking second and Auburn taking third.
- This will be the first meet of the season for the Terps.
- They had a 13-7 record in 2024, making it to NCAA Regionals. The team ended at No. 26 on Road to Nationals.
- The Sun Devils and Terps have faced each other three times, with ASU winning all three. This will be the first meeting since 2005.
- The Nittany Lions started the year by hosting a tri-meet and taking first place with a 195.775.
- Penn State earned a 15-8 record last season and advanced to the NCAA Regional Finals. The team finished one spot above ASU in the final rankings at No. 15.
- In the all-time series, Penn State leads 5-4. The Sun Devils last met the Nittany Lions in the regular season in 2019 in University Park, with ASU taking second.
- To start the year, the Owls faced West Virginia, falling in the dual meet with a 191.200.
- In 2024, Temple went to NCAA Regionals and had a 15-19 record in the regular season.
