SAN RAMON– On Monday, the Pac-12 Conference announced that Arizona State Lacrosse's Zoe Mazur was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week. The graduate defender recorded 24 draw controls in two games, including a program and career high 14 against Detroit Mercy. 

This is the first career honor for Mazur and the second for the Sun Devils this season since junior goalkeeper Katie Vahle was named Defensive Player of the Week on March 19.

In the win over Detroit Mercy where Maur recorded 14 draw controls, she did not allow a draw control to go UDM's way until eight minutes into the third quarter. 

Mazur followed up with 10 draw controls on Saturday for her sixth game this season with 10+ draw controls. 

Mazur now holds the Sun Devil single-season draw control record sitting at 116, passing Maura Cissel who had 111 in 2021. She's also atop the program's record books with 279 career draw controls.

The Sun Devils will head to the Centennial State next weekend for a two-game slate, starting with Colorado on Friday, April 12 at 2 p.m. MST. The game is available on the Pac-12 Networks. ASU will also play the University of Denver on Sunday, April 14 at 12 p.m. MST.
