The four honorees for the month of March include Jesse Vasquez (wrestling), Zhanet Angelova (women's swim & dive), CJ Fite (football), and Hannah Scharf (gymnastics).
High Achieving Male - CJ Fite
Rising sophomore C.J. Fite, a defensive lineman on the Sun Devil football team, was recognized as the High Achieving Male Student-Athlete of the Month. Fite, who came to ASU from Tetum, Texas, is currently pursuing his B.S. in business entrepreneurship. Fite has been on the Dean's List every semester since stepping foot on campus in the Spring of 2023 and has proven himself as a leader on and off the field. As a freshman, Fite played in 11 games and accounted for 15 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one pass defensed and one fumble recovery. He is an active member of the Tip of the Fork Leadership Development Program, which is a program designed to build leaders within the Sun Devil Athletics community. Any time there is an opportunity to take some time and give back to the community, Fite is the first one to volunteer. Fite's plans after graduation include fulfilling his dream of playing in the NFL and to one day own a training facility that includes athletic training, physical therapy and mental health advocacy.
Our final Congratulations is to CJ Fite from @ASUFootball for being recognized as the High Achieving Male Student-Athlete of the Month! Your dedication to academics is truly impressive. Keep up the fantastic work! @TheSunDevils #O2V pic.twitter.com/bYgzJzrwns

High Achieving Female - Hannah Scharf
Hannah is amazing. She is an excellent role model for the gymnastics team and Sun Devil athletes as a whole. She is hard working and competes every day in all things. She is devoted to her sport and academics. She will leave ASU with her Bachelor's and her Master's degree. There are too many good things to say about Hannah to put them all into a short shoutout!
The spotlight now turns to Hannah Scharf of @SunDevilGym! She's been named OSAD's High Achieving Female Athlete of the Month. Let's give a big shoutout to Hannah for the example she sets on both the team and in her academic pursuits! @TheSunDevils #O2V pic.twitter.com/aiAjXzc6YD

Most Improved Male - Jesse Vasquez
Early career injuries couldn't keep this guy off the mat and certainly was not going to deter him in the classroom. Vasquez is a junior on ASU's men's wrestling team who is studying interdisciplinary studies with concentrations in entrepreneurship/innovation & psychology. Jesse has always been focused on his academics, but this semester he is shooting for and on track to achieve all A's for the first time while he's been at ASU. Jesse continues to make noise in the classroom and he hopes to become an entrepreneur upon graduation and begin his own business.
Congratulations to Jesse Vasquez from @ASUWrestling for being named our Most Improved Male Student-Athlete of the Month! Your commitment and advancement are inspiring. Keep excelling! @TheSunDevils #O2V pic.twitter.com/MQNd9iZTBJ

Most Improved Female - Zhanet Angelova
Zhanet Angelova started off this year with some slight adversity being in a new country and learning a new language. Since then, she has been consistent, hardworking, and dedicated to her coursework and grades by setting goals for herself and achieving those goals one by one. Zhanet always has a positive attitude and is always looking for ways to improve. She's not afraid to ask questions and loves teaching other Bulgaria and the Balkan culture, language, and customs. Zhanet is not only a great student-athlete but a joy to work with, learn from, and to talk to.
Shoutout to Zhanet Angelova from @ASUSwimDive, our Most Improved Female Student-Athlete of the Month! Awesome job on your progress this month; your hard work is paying off. Keep it up! @TheSunDevils #O2V pic.twitter.com/yuFDsHvDyg
