TEMPE, Ariz. – The road to Philadelphia starts now.
Reigning national champion Richard Figueroa and Sun Devil Wrestling are soon to embark on their 2024-25 season, as head coach Zeke Jones has announced the team's schedule ahead of the inaugural campaign in the Big 12 Conference.

The Sun Devils' schedule includes 19 total events – 13 of which are dual meets – beginning with the annual Maroon & Gold intrasquad scrimmage on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. AZT in Desert Financial Arena.
The Sun Devils' slate includes hosting new conference foes like Northern Iowa, Northern Colorado and Oklahoma, while paying visits to Oklahoma State, Missouri, Iowa State and Cal-Baptist.
Locations for all home meets will be shared with fans at a later date.
Jones will lead the Sun Devils at the team's first Big 12 Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, from March 8-9. They'll close the season at the NCAA Championships in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the Wells Fargo Center from March 20-22, where Figueroa will look to become the fourth Sun Devil in team history to win a pair of national titles, joining Zahid Valencia, Markus Mollica and Dan St. John.

Reigning national champion Richard Figueroa was recently named one of 10 Division I wrestlers to be a preseason frontrunner for the 2025 Dan Hodge Trophy by WIN Magazine. The Hodge Trophy, named after the late Dan Hodge who was a the three-time NCAA champion at Oklahoma and never allowed a takedown in his career, is given annually to the nation's most dominant wrestler.
Figueroa is vying to become just the second Sun Devil to earn the award, as it was first won by Eric Larkin in 2003.

Figueroa was also tabbed alongside fellow All-American Cohlton Schultz as two of the NCAA Wrestling's top-25 wrestlers in the country heading into the new campaign.
