SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Sun Devil Triathlon took home first place in the 2024 West Regional Qualifiers, led by junior Naomi Ruff's second first-place finish in as many races. ASU had four student-athletes finish in the top 10, and broke the tie with Arizona to take home the crown after having a higher sixth-place finisher.

Ruff's third individual title came after her finish in 1:02:25. Despite finishing 11th in swim time and having one of the slower bike times, she had the quickest run time of the morning to claim the crown.

Sidney Clement finished fourth for ASU with a time of 1:03:04. Her swim was the fourth best time of the morning at 9:10, but after her 33:25 bike time, she fell behind. Clement's run of 18:49 was enough for her to take home fourth.

Alice Alessandri and Zoe Mari Adam rounded off the top-10 finishes at ninth and tenth, respectively. Alessandri's fourth-best bike time of 32:17 allowed the freshman to clinch the first top-10 finish of her collegiate career.

Amber Schlebusch capped off ASU scoring as the fifth finisher with her 12th place result. Britney Brown served as the tiebreaker after Arizona and Arizona State were tied at 614 when scores were tallied, finishing 16th beating out Arizona's sixth place finisher, who was one spot behind her at 17.

To round out the top 20, Faith Dasso finished at 18 and Camille Bucanan crossed the finish line in 20th. Madison Judas placed 30th, and the final Sun Devil racer, MJ Lopez Aguirre, finished in 34th.

ASU now looks ahead to the Collegiate Triathlon National Championship, where the Sun Devils are the seven-time defending champions. They will go for an eighth title on November 9  in Clermont, Florida.
