MOUNT SHASTA- Sun Devil Triathlon opens its 2024 season in California as three student-athletes are set to race at the Mt. Shasta Collegiate Cup on Sunday, September 1. The trio of Sun Devils racing are freshmen Jade Allen and Kaia Merrill, along with junior Madison Judas.
Assistant Coach Kyla Roy praised the opportunity for the group competing this weekend, "Both freshmen will be competing in their first draft legal triathlon! We've been working on so many skills the past two weeks that we've had with the athletes competing this weekend and they've caught on to everything so fast!"
"I am so excited for these three girls to get out there and open up the 2024 season for ASU and NCAA," said Roy.
The Mt. Shasta Collegiate Cup is the first of four races this season. At the end of September the team will take on TCU's Battle in the Fort followed by the West Regional Qualifier and National Championship in the later months of the season.
