Sun Devil Lacrosse's graduate Gigi Gaspar received the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, which is only given annually to 126 former and current collegiate athletes who are in their final year of competition. The defender, who had started every game of her Sun Devil career, will start grad school later this month in ASU's Master of Sports Law and Business program.
Gaspar praised the opportunity ahead, "This scholarship is a huge honor and it wouldn't have been possible without the amazing support from the whole Sun Devil Athletics staff throughout my time at ASU and during the application process."
"The scholarship will help support my next steps as I get ready to begin with the MSLB program at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law this Fall and I couldn't be more excited for this next chapter!"
Gaspar, who was the 2024 Pac-12 Women's Lacrosse Scholar Athlete of the year just graduated from Arizona State with summa cum laude honors, earning her BS in Finance in May.
As a senior in 2024, she started all 19 games and led the team in caused turnovers with 17– bringing her career total to 44– which is second all-time in the program record books.
The defender was a four-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection and was named to the IWLCA Honor Roll in 2023 and 2024. She became the first Sun Devil women's lacrosse player to be named the Pac-12's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
The post graduate scholarship is a one-time $10,000 award corresponding to each sports season for the fall, winter and spring. Each sports season 21 male and 21 female scholarships are available for use in an accredited graduate program.
