TEMPE – Five student-athletes from Sun Devil softball were named Academic All-District® on Tuesday as the College Sports Communicators (CSC) released the 2023-24 selections. Alesia Denby, Kelsey Hall, Audrey LeClair, Marissa Schuld, and Tanya Windle were all selected from ASU.

This is the second CSC academic honor for Denby (2023 at Fresno State) and Schuld. It's also the third consecutive season ASU has had multiple selections to the Academic All-District® team.

It's not an easy feat to be nominated for the Academic All-District®. Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintaining a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA. For graduate students, this standard must be met for both undergraduate and graduate studies. They must also demonstrate their commitment to their sport, competing in 90 percent of the institution's games played or starting in at least 66 percent of the games. Pitchers need 17 appearances or 25 innings pitched.

In her lone season as a Sun Devil, Denby finished with a team-leading 12 home runs and 34 RBIs. She finished in the top 10 in Pac-12 in home runs and extra-base hits. Denby never missed a game in her career, playing in 234 straight dating back to the 2020 season at Fresno State.

Hall made the most of her first season in Tempe and was an All-Pac-12 selection. She led the Sun Devils in on-base percentage while placing second on the team in hits and batting average. Hall tied for the team lead with 15 multi-hit games.

LeClair put together a solid all-around season with a .271 batting average and nine extra-base hits. She played multiple positions and recorded 162 fielding chances without committing an error. LeClair added six outfield assists.

Schuld contributed both at the plate and in the circle during the season. She made 22 appearances (15 starts) as a pitcher, with six complete games and 42 strikeouts. Schuld also hit a double and two home runs in her time at the plate.

Windle was named to the NFCA All-West Region Third Team after leading ASU in average, hits, and doubles. She tied for the team lead with 15 multi-hit games and twice had hitting streaks of at least five games. She is 10th among active players in career batting average (min. 300 ABs) at .404.
