EUGENE, Ore. – Sun Devil softball dropped the second game of its series at Oregon by a final of 6-4 on Saturday at Jane Sanders Stadium.  For the second straight day, Arizona State (17-13, 2-6 Pac-12) took a 2-0 lead in the first inning before Oregon (18-10, 6-2) would rally for the win.

ASU got home runs from Jordyn VanHook and Marissa Schuld in the loss. They had six hits overall, including two from Kelsey Hall and one from Tanya Windle, to extend her hitting streak to seven games.

Deborah Jones gave up five runs on seven hits over four innings. Meika Lauppe went the final two innings with one unearned run allowed and zero hits.

VanHook put the Sun Devils in front with a 2-run homer to right-center with two outs in the top of the first inning. Her second home run of the season was her second two-RBI hit in the first inning of the series.

Oregon scored on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning and added four more in the fourth inning. The key blow was a two-run triple from Kedre Luschar as a pinch-hitter.

Hall started an ASU rally in the sixth inning with a leadoff double. Schuld then came on as a pinch hitter and put the first pitch she saw over the left field wall to get the teach within 5-4. The Sun Devils would get another two runners on base in the frame before a groundout ended the threat,

The Ducks picked up an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth and then stranded a Sun Devil runner at second to end the game.
