No. 20 Men's Tennis Ties Highest Ranked Win Since Program's ReinstatementNo. 20 Men's Tennis Ties Highest Ranked Win Since Program's Reinstatement
FLUSHING– No. 20 Arizona State men's tennis (6-4) battled from behind after losing the doubles point, to take four straight singles matches to top No. 13 Michigan (5-6) 4-2 in the team's final match at the ITA National Men's Team Indoor Championship tournament. Freshman Daniel Phillips earned his first career singles win in the team's victory.

Sunday marked the team's second upset of the season after the team topped No. 25 FSU during the ITA Kickoff Weekend in January, and is tied for the program's largest upset since reinstatement when, coincidentally, the team topped No. 13 Michigan 4-2 on March 15, 2019.

The Devils fought until the end for the doubles point, but ultimately fell after taking the third match to the tiebreaker for the second-straight day, and were faced with an 0-1 deficit early.

In singles, five of six Sun Devils won their first sets against the Wolverines, including Daniel Phillips whose first-career win came in straight sets– the only ASU point to be decided in straight sets.

A duo of Sun Devils picked up ranked singles wins over the Wolverines, after Max McKennon defeated #41 Jacob Bickerseth and Jacob Bullard defeated #125 Patorn Hanchaikul.

Roi Ginat clinched the match for ASU after his 6-3, 7-6(2-7), 6-3 victory.
