TEMPE – Fifth year attacker Lindsey Dean has signed with Sun Devil Lacrosse as announced by head coach Taryn VanThof Thursday morning.

Dean, a communications major from Drexel University, comes to Arizona State with 34 games played in three seasons featuring 16 goals, six assists and 11 ground balls.

"I am excited to have Lindsey join the Sun Devils, she brings in loads of leadership and experience after helping Drexel advance to the NCAA tournament the past three seasons," said VanThof.

Not only was Dean part of the 2021 Drexel team that secured its first NCAA tournament bid, but she helped the Dragons win their first Coastal Athletic Association Championship in 2022 with nine goals and an assist. She set a career high in goals (four), assists (three) and points (seven) this past April against Hofstra.

Academically, Dean was named to CAA Commissioner's Honor Roll in the 2020 fall term and in 2021.

Before her stint in Philadelphia, Dean was a four-year varsity letter winner at Our Lady of Mercy in Dix Hills. She compiled 165 goals and 242 points in her high school career, including a 68-goal, 93-point junior season. The attacker holds the school record for goals (9) and assists (9) in a single game.

Dean won a pair of CHSAA championships in her junior and senior seasons, along with a state title in 2018. She earned a spot on Newsday's list of the top 100 girls lacrosse players three times (2016-18) and was the Newsday Athlete of the Week on May 13, 2018, an award selected from all the prep athletes, boys and girls, in all sports in the New York area. Aside from lacrosse Dean also played varsity volleyball and basketball.
