TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Women's Tennis began their final home weekend with a huge victory against No. 29 USC, 4-1, the first victory at home against the Trojans since 2011. It is the second top-30 home victory for the Sun Devils this season, who improved to 12-0 at the Whiteman Tennis Center this spring.

The Sun Devils have now beaten USC in each of their last two meetings, dating back to the 2022 Pac-12 Tournament.

The afternoon got going with a battle for the doubles point. Sedona Gallagher and Giulia Morlet secured the first doubles match win over Piper and Cheang of USC by a score of 6-2. The Trojans answered right back with a 6-4 win over Chelsea Fontenel and Mariana Argyrokastriti. In the end, it was Domenika Turkovic and Patricija Spaka with the 7-5 victory on court one to secure the doubles point for the Sun Devils.

For the singles play, Gallagher easily handled play on her court, securing a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Mckenna Koeing. Chelsea Fontenel continued the winning for the Sun Devils as she handled her own in a 6-2, 7-5 victory over No. 42 Eryn Cayetano. In the end, it was Argyrokastriti who battled against No. 38 Namoi Cheong in a triumphant 6-3, 7-6 victory for Argyrokastriti and clinched the Sun Devils victory. Giulia Morlet and Rachel Hanford's matches went unfinished with the Sun Devils clinching.

Argyrokastriti grinded out her team-best sixteenth singles win of the season, while Fontenel defeated the highest-ranked opponent of her young collegiate career.

"It feels great," head coach Sheila McInerney said following the win. "We've had a really good year at home, we're undefeated, we play super well here. [USC] is tough ... it's nice to come out on the good side today.

"I thought we competed really well. ...We've got to recover and get ready for a very good UCLA team tomorrow."
