TEMPE – The curtain closes on the Arizona State ice hockey season this weekend as the Sun Devils (16-21-0) host the Long Island Sharks (13-20-1) for a two-game series on March 10-11. Both games start at 7 p.m. and air on the ASU Live Stream and Fox Sports 910. On Saturday night, the team celebrates seven seniors on Senior Night on the ice before the puck drop.

Alternate captains Demetrios Koumontzis and Jacob Semik, Jack Judson, Ben Kraws, Robert Mastrosimone, Tanner Hickey, and Chris Grando will be honored with their families at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday night. The seniors combined for 801 NCAA games played.

THE MATCHUP
Similarly last season, the ASU finished its season with a series against Long Island. Last time, the Sun Devils made the Sharks their bait, securing 2-1 and 5-1 victories that also capped off ASU's tenure at Oceanside Ice Arena.

This time around, ASU boasts the fourth-best penalty kill unit in the country which operates at an 86 percent success rate. The matchup should pair with the Sharks' power play, which ranks 14th in the NCAA at 23 percent. LIU is 3-10-0 on the road this season, only collecting wins at Stonehill, Princeton, and Assumption.
