No. 2/2 Arizona State Men's Golf is off to Florida for the 2023 Valspar Invitational and will be joined by five other top 10 teams according to Golfstat. The 54-hole event will be held Monday, March 27 - Tuesday, March 28. 

THE COURSE
  • The Floridan National Course is a par-71 7, 7,114 yard course.
  • All three rounds will take place over two days, with 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday. 
THE LINEUP
  • The Sun Devils will send Ryggs Johnston, Preston SummerhaysJosele Ballester, Luke Potter and Michael Mjaaseth to the Cabo Collegiate. 
  • It is the third straight week that the Maroon and Gold have used the same lineup. 
THE FIELD
  • A total of 15-teams will compete, including six of Golfstat's top 10 teams in the nation (as of March 24)
  • The Sun Devils are the only Pac-12 team in the field. 
A NICE DAY TO PLAY TWO
  • Arizona State will play 36 holes on the opening day of the Valspar Invite. It is the second straight tournament after playing 36 on the opening day of the NIT.
  • After finishing round one in first at the NIT in first place, ASU fell to third over the next 18 holes, holding that position through the final round. 
DOTTING UP THE PAR-4S
  • The Sun Devils led the NIT field on par-4 holes at 5-under for the event. 
  • Arizona State was one of just three of 13 teams that fired under par on such holes.
TEAM RANKINGS
  • For the second straight week, Arizona State Men's Golf is ranked second in the nation per Golfweek (USA Today).
  • ASU is also second in the land per Golfstat.  
INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS
  • Preston Sumemerhays is the top ranked Sun Devil on Golfweek, sitting 13th in the nation individually. 
  • He is closely tailed by Luke Potter (16) while Michael Mjaaseth (31) and Josele Ballester (41) are also in the top 50.
PUTTING POTTER
  • Luke Potter has carded three top-10 finishes (T1, 4th, 10th, T27), in his last four events. They were the first three top 10 finishes of his Sun Devil career.
  • He is ranked 13 in the nation as an individual per Golfweek (USA Today). 
  • Potter had the fifth-most birdies in the NIT field.
SOARING SUMMERHAYS
  • Preston Summerhays has been on a tear in recent weeks.
  • He has two-straight top five finishes, both of which have been season-bests for him.
