This is the penultimate weekend of the regular season before NCAA Indoor Championships get going March 10 & 11. Just the top-16 in each event qualify for NCAA Indoors, and ASU currently has five athletes in qualifying position. Four-time NCAA Champion Turner Washington is the highest-ranked Sun Devil, coming in at sixth in the shot put. Justin Robinson is ninth in the 400m, followed by Jeremy Cody at 15th in the high jump and ASU's 4x4 team of Robinson, Jalen Drayden, Trevin Moyer and Jeremiah Curry at 16th. Dayton Carlson is right on the bubble in the 800m where he's 17th with a time of 1:47.90 - second all-time in the ASU indoor books.
Looking ahead
After this weekend, ASU's final meet is the Ken Shannon Last Chance Meet hosted by Washington in Seattle, Washington. The meet serves as a de facto Pac-12 Championship because even though the Pac-12 doesn't officially sponsor an indoor championship, the only competing teams are from the Pac-12.
