In her first career home start, Kylee Magee allowed three hits and struck out four to record her first career win and shutout. Jordyn VanHook went 3-for-3 at the plate with a home run, two doubles and a career-best five RBIs. Six of the team's nine hits went for extra bases.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • After a 1-2-3 top of the first inning for Magee, Yanni Acuña hit a solo home run to get things started for the Sun Devils in the bottom of the first to give ASU a 1-0 lead.
  • Back-to-back doubles from VanHook and Alexa Milius extend the lead to 3-0 after two innings.
  • Magee worked out of a bases loaded and one out situation in the fourth with a strikeout and a groundout to keep the Vikings off the board.
  • VanHook homered for the second straight night with one out on the bottom of the fourth to push the ASU advantage to 4-0.
  • With the bases loaded in the fifth, VanHook drove in three with her second double of the evening. Milius followed with a double to right to give the Sun Devils a second walkoff run-rule of the season.

QUOTES:
Head Coach Megan Bartlett
On Kylee's Performance
"She's amazing. Kylee is dynamic and talented. She's an amazing teammate, and a really proud Sun Devil. I mean, she has been committed here since she was 13. So you really just got to witness so many years and so much work and preparation, culminate in this really cool moment. The hitters got on board behind her and her team loves her and they rally around her. That will be the first of many wins for Kylie."

On Jordyn Van Hook's Success
"It fills me with joy every time she gets a hit or when she's standing at first base with this giant smile on her face. Jordyn waited her turn, she worked hard, kept her head down through all  the coaching change. She told me  I want to be here and I want to be a Sun Devil."

On Sara Kinch Behind the Plate
"We've been pleased with their production so far. Sarah Kinch has a wonderfully efficient and accurate arm even her counterpart Gianna (Boccagno) has one of the biggest arms in college softball. We are really, really blessed with our ability to control the base path and really beat down the opponent's run game."

Pitcher Kylee Magee
On how first home win of the season feels:
"It feels really good, I was glad we could do the little chant after the game and first win at home stadium feels good. We have all of the fans here and it was really exciting."

On having her older brother in attendance impacting her game:
"Of course, it did because I remember watching him last year and now I'm in his position. So I had to make a little show for him."

Infielder Jordyn VanHook
On today's performance going 3-for-3 at bat:
"I feel really confident within my at-bats. I was just seeing the ball really well and my focus was just on driving in the gaps, all contacts so I executed that well today."

On what has led to her start so far this season:
"I just have been working really hard this offseason, like yes I didn't get much playing time in the previous three years but right now I'm just really focused on making the most of my opportunities. Not really trying to think much of it, just taking it day by day, so just continuing this path I'm going on."

On offensive success at home versus away:
"It's much different because we have our fans, we're at our home environment. I think it's just more of a comfort area here and we can just have fun at Club Farrington, so it's definitely a great time this weekend."
