TEMPE -- The Office of Student-Athlete Development (OSAD) announced its recipients of Student-Athlete of Month honors for the month of October. OSAD recognizes a male and female student-athlete in two categories, high-achieving students (history of high academic performance), and the most improved (students who have stepped up and made a difference in their academic performance).

The four honorees for the month of October include Kaleb Larkin (wrestling), Amber Schlebusch (triathlon), RJ Regan (football), and Shania Cromartie (volleyball).

High Achieving Male - Kaleb Larkin
Kaleb Larkin is a true freshman from Gilbert, AZ and currently wrestling at 149 lbs. He is exceptional in the classroom and currently holds a 4.00 GPA. Larkin has big goals in life, and will be a second-generation Sun Devil after his father, Eric, was a 4x All-American and the 2003 149lb national champion. And in the past 2 weeks, Kaleb Larkin became the youngest wrestler at the 2023 Bill Farrell Memorial International to win his bracket. At 20 years old, the Sun Devil freshman captured his first Senior-level international event and punched his ticket to the '24 U.S. Olympic Trials

Moving on to our High Achieving Male Student-Athlete of the month, we want to congratulate Kaleb Larkin from @ASUWrestling! We appreciate your commitment inside and outside of the classroom! @TheSunDevils #O2V pic.twitter.com/ntXVqmA4tg

High Achieving Female - Amber Schlebusch
Amber Schlebusch is a rockstar student-athlete of the ASU Women's Triathlon Team. She is set to graduate in Spring 2024 with her degree in Biological Sciences on the Biomedical Sciences track. Not only does she excel in the classroom, but she is a top NCAA triathlete and regularly represents her home country of South Africa. She was the NCAA D1 individual national champion in 2022 and rounded out her NCAA career with a 3rd place finish in 2023. Amber is the epitome of a student and an athlete while representing ASU to the highest degree.

Our last student-athlete of the month we want to say congrats to is our High Achieving Female Student-Athlete of the Month, Amber Schlebusch from @sundeviltri! Your dedication to academics is impressive! @TheSunDevils #O2V pic.twitter.com/oeCci3b5KX

Most Improved Male - RJ Regan
RJ, who is from Lakewood, California is in his redshirt sophomore year on the Sun Devil Football team. He is currently completing his degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a concentration of Organizational Leadership and Sociology. Once he graduates, he hopes to help people in the psychology and sociology space. When he came in 2021, RJ struggled in turning work on time, and being able to stay on top of his school work. He finished his first year with a pretty poor GPA, and struggled to find motivation in school. However, during his tenure here, RJ has started to prioritize his schoolwork, finishing on the Dean's List last semester! Just from this past A session, RJ is above a 3.0 GPA! I am very proud of the man that RJ has become, and excited to see where life takes him. Way to go RJ!

Congrats to our Most Improved Male Student-Athlete of the Month, RJ Regan from @ASUFootball! Your dedication and progress are truly inspiring. Keep up the great work! @TheSunDevils #O2V pic.twitter.com/LyHMn6wpGn

Most Improved Female - Shania Cromartie
Shania came in as a transfer this summer ready to work in the classroom and on the court. She is doing great work, staying organized, and working hard to achieve the new educational goals she has set for herself. Shania has improved and maintained her GPA above 3.3 and is working towards her end goal of a 3.6 GPA or better. She always has a great attitude, strives to improve each day, and is killing it on the court and in the classroom. OSAD is proud of Shania's positive attitude, hard work, and dedication!
