TEMPE – Following a seventh straight national championship, Sun Devil Triathlon had five honored by the College Triathlon Coaches Association with All-America recognition on Thursday. The CTCA also announced head coach Cliff English as the Division I Coach of the Year.
Heidi Jurankova, Naomi Ruff, and Amber Schlebusch were each selected to the 2023 CTCA All-America First Team. Zoe Mari Adam was named to the Second Team, and Faith Dasso was named an honorable mention.
Since the program began in 2016, ASU has had 31 student-athletes recognized with All-America honors. This is the fourth consecutive season with at least three named First Team All-American.
Schlebusch earned her third All-America award, becoming the fourth in program history to be honored at least three times. Looking to defend her 2022 national championship, Schlebusch finished third at this year's Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championships.
Jurankova was named All-American for the second consecutive year following her fifth-place results at the National Championship. She becomes the ninth Sun Devil in program history to be a multiple-time All-American.
Ruff used her runner-up result at the National Championship to earn her first All-American selection. She also claimed the title at the Battle in the Fort in September for her second collegiate victory.
Adam concluded her freshman campaign with a Second Team All-America honor. She was 15th at the National Championship to secure her spot on the team.
Dasso followed her CTCA All-West Region Team selection with an Honorable Mention All-America award. She clinched the program's seventh crown by finishing 21st at the National Championship.
English picks up Coach of the Year honors for the fourth time in his career. He last won the award in 2019 to cap a run of three straight seasons (2017-19) as the yearly winner.
