Tony Negron (184) kicked off Sun Devil Wrestling's season with an incredible weekend in Bethlehem, PA. With a top 10 upset and three bonus-point victories en route to a 5-0 record, Negron jumped from unranked to No. 19 in FloWrestling's newest rankings.
He began Journeymen Wranglemania with an 18-3 tech fall victory over Lock Haven's Cael Black, and used this momentum to defeat No. 6 Gavin Kane of North Carolina in ASU's second dual of the day. Negron then went on to dominate in the Journeymen Collegiate Classic, going 3-0 in his bracket with two major decisions.
This is the second year in a row that Negron has won his bracket at Journeymen's, and he was one of two Sun Devils to accomplish this feat over the weekend. This is his first time winning Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week, and puts the Sun Devils back on the list after winning the award in the final week of last season.
