TEMPE – For the second consecutive season, Sun Devil Soccer has earned a berth in the NCAA Women's Soccer National Championship field of 64. Arizona State will travel to face No. 7 seed Santa Clara in a first-round game on Saturday at 2 p.m. MST.
The Sun Devils finished the regular season with a 10-6-4 overall record, and they tied for fifth in the Pac-12 at 5-5-1. This will be the 10th trip to the National Tournament in program history and the third in the past four seasons.
ASU will be making tournament appearances in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2009 and 2010 and only the third time in program history. They are 5-10-1 all-time in the tournament.
Santa Clara enters the tournament at 13-4-2 overall and they tied for second in the WCC with a 6-2 record. The Broncos are 8-1 at home. They score 2.00 goals per game with a 0.61 GAA. This will be their ninth consecutive appearance in the National Tournament and 33 in program history.
