STANFORD, Calif. - Sun Devil Women's Golf completed the second of three rounds at the Stanford Intercollegiate on Saturday afternoon.
Arizona State showed improvement from day one, led by the performance of senior Ashley Menne. A veteran of the Stanford Golf Course, Menne had one of the best rounds of her career. She carded a 67 (-4), moving up 45 spots on the leaderboard and into a tie for 16th. She is in contention for another Top-10 finish. The Sun Devils shaved off five strokes as a team from their previous round score, moving into a tie for seventh. They sit just outside the Top-5 of a loaded 19-team field heading into the final round. Head Coach Missy Farr-Kaye's team concludes the Stanford Intercollegiate tomorrow morning, with each Sun Devil starting their round at 8:30 AM MST. QUOTABLES
"We were able to improve by five shots today on a harder day on this golf course," Coach Farr-Kaye reflected. "Great job by Ashley today to go four-under. A phenomenal round. We were able to maintain our positioning and post one of the lowest rounds of the day. They will get back to work tomorrow and push for a good finish in a very strong field."

HISTORY AT STANFORD INTERCOLLEGIATE
The Sun Devils are making their 11th appearance at the Stanford Intercollegiate, first competing at the event in 1980. This is the seventh time in the last eight editions that Arizona State will be a part of the field. ASU has enjoyed its fair share of success at Stanford, winning the team title six times, most recently in 2019. Arizona State (-10/842) earned its ninth title in the Missy Farr-Kaye era, putting together their eighth-lowest score vs. par over 54 holes in school history.
The Sun Devils were also victorious at the 2009, 2007, 2004, 1995, and 1982 Stanford Intercollegiate. A pair of Sun Devil legends earned individual titles at the Stanford Intercollegiate, as Heather Bowie took home the individual crown in 1995 while Brandie Burton was the champion of the 1989 event.
