JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Fresh off winning the West Region National Qualifier, Sidney Clement, Heidi Jurankova, and Faith Dasso from Sun Devil triathlon were named to the 2023 CTCA Division All-West Region Team.
Clement, a freshman from Vancouver, B.C., was also named to the All-West Region Freshman Team following her individual title at the West Region Qualifier. It was her first collegiate victory and came after she completed the race in 1:03:39 to win by 14 seconds.
Jurankova made the all-region team for a second consecutive season after also being an all-freshman selection in 2022. She placed fifth at the West Qualifier in 1:04:08.
Dasso was named to the all-region team for the first time in her career. She was sixth in Saturday's qualifier with a time of 1:04:24.
The trio is expected to be part of the lineup when ASU goes for a seventh straight national title at the Collegiate Triathlon National Championship. The event will be held on November 11 at Tempe Town Lake.
