CANADA – Bella Gaspar and Gigi Gaspar are set to compete for Lacrosse Canada at the 2023 World Lacrosse Women's Super Sixes event. The event is taking place in Oshawa, Ontario from October 6-8.

This is the first time that the Gaspar twins have been selected to a Team Canada roster. Led by coaching staff Shawn Williams, Jessica Markew, Katie Ranger and Ashley Bull the Gaspar twins are two of 12 on a roster composed of women all across Canada.

"It is the highest honor to be able to represent your country," Sun Devil Lacrosse head coach Taryn VanThof said. "I am so excited for Bella and Gigi to represent Team Canada at the World Lacrosse Women's Super Sixes event next month."

From Burnaby, B.C. the defensive pair started and played in all 19 games for the Sun Devils during the 2023 season. Bella led the team with 15 caused turnovers and Gigi had 26 ground balls, the second most for Arizona State. Gigi was a 2023 Pac-12 All-Tournament Team selection after collecting a career-high of five ground balls and causing two turnovers in the victory against California. Bella was the program's first All-American back in 2022, receiving honorable mention distinction from U.S. Lacrosse Magazine. In the Gaspar's three-year career in Tempe, they have combined for 163 ground balls and 80 caused turnovers in 104 games. The two were also named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll and the Pac-12 Honor Roll in 2023.

Four teams will compete in the 2023 Super Sixes tournament: Canada, Haudenosaunee, Kenya, and the United States.  The tournament runs from October 6-8, and can be streamed on Youtube.
