TEMPE – Over the summer Sun Devil Athletics announced seven inductees into the Sun Devil Hall of Fame, established in 1975 to honor the school's most distinguished student-athletes in all sports. Addison McGrath is one of the seven Sun Devils to be inducted into the Sun Devil Hall of Fame this Friday, and the first in Sun Devil Water Polo history this Friday, Oct. 6 at the Omni Tempe Hotel.

McGrath competed for the Maroon & Gold for four years in 2006 through 2009, breaking the record books during her tenure in Tempe in all offensive categories. Today, she still is the only Sun Devil to surpass the 300-point mark with 348 career points, which is 98 more than the next closest Sun Devil. In her junior year, she was part of the second team that surpassed 20 wins for the second time in program history.

The California native currently holds records for career goals (237), career points (348) and holds the single-season record with most points recorded in a season with 123 set in 2008. She is one of two Sun Devils to score 80 goals in a single season with 81 set in 2008, which was a program record at the time for five seasons until 2013. McGrath also ranks second in program history with 111 career assists and one of three players to surpass the 100 mark.

Her ability to score was unprecedented, she had 66 multi-goal games and held the record for most goals in a single game with seven by a Sun Devil until Vanda Baska broke the record in 2022 against No. 17 Indiana with eight goals. McGrath is a three-time ACWPC all-American and became the first Sun Devil to earn First-Team All-America honors after her record setting junior season in 2008. Adding to her accolades, she was a two-time All-MPSF first-team pick and a three-time selection on the MPSF All-Academic honors list.

McGrath was also a multi-sport athlete, competing in three track meets while playing water polo, regionally qualifying in the javelin by placing in eighth with a toss of 153-05 (46.77m), which ranked second in program history at the time (eighth current).
