TEMPE, Ariz.- Head coach Bob Bowman was named to the 2023 class of the International Swimming Hall of Fame on Saturday night in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Bowman, who is currently in his ninth year as the head coach of Sun Devil Swim and Dive, was one of 13 inductees as he was recognized as an honor coach representing the U.S. Joining him in being inducted into the ISHOF was Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time who Bowman was the longtime coach of.

Last season, the Sun Devil men won their first Pac-12 championship in program history along with being runner-ups at NCAA's. Additionally, the Sun Devil Men earned the No. 1 ranking in the country for the first time in program history. To end the 2022-23 season, the Sun Devil women won three of their four final regular season meets and placed fifth at Pac-12s.

Prior to the start of the school year, Bowman served as the men's head coach for Team USA as they competed in Fukuoka, Japan at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships. Bowman additionally received the honor of being named the Sun Devil Head Coach of the Year in honor of Frank Kush back in June.

Outside of this summer, Bowman had previously been the U.S. men's head coach at the 2007, 2009 and 2013 FINA World Championships. He also served on the U.S. staff for the previous five Olympic Games (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020), in which he was the head coach in Rio.

Swim and dive has already begun its 2023-24 campaign after hosting Georgia in both a LCM meet and SCY meet last Friday and Saturday. Bowman and the Sun Devils are in action next for their next meet on Friday (2 p.m. MST) when the team hosts UNLV at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center.
