TEMPE – No. 19 ranked Sun Devil Women's Tennis kept the ball rolling with a pair of 7-0 victories on Thursday at the Whiteman Tennis Center, this time over both New Mexico State and Northern Arizona.
The Sun Devils got the morning started with dominant doubles performances across the board. Patricija Spaka and Domenika Turkovic, the ninth-ranked duo in the nation, were solid in their 6-1 match victory on Court 1, and Giulia Morlet and Sedona Gallagher followed suit with their 6-1 victory on Court 2 to clinch the lone doubles point. Marianna Argyrokastriti and Chelsea Fontenel on Court 3 had a score of 5-2 in favor of the Sun Devils at the time it was called unfinished.
In singles play, Morlet cruised with a 6-2, 6-0 victory on Court 1 against the Aggies' Mingfang Zhu. The rest of the Sun Devils emulated Morlet, with each adding their own commanding victories in two sets. Spaka and Argyrokastriti posted a pair of shutouts in the morning match when both wiped out their opponents, 6-0, 6-0.
It was not only the Sun Devils' third victory in a row, but the third time they have swept their opponent to open the season.

MATCH TWO VS. NORTHERN ARIZONA
On their second match of the day, this time against the in-state Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, the Sun Devils cruised to their fourth 7-0 victory of the young season.
ASU started where they left off this morning with commanding performances in opening doubles play. Gallagher and Morlet claimed a 6-0 victory on Court 2, followed by Turkovic and Spaka's sharp performance on Court 1 that resulted in their 6-2 win to help the Sun Devils grab the first point of the match.
Transitioning into singles play, Fontenel easily slid to a 6-2, 6-2 victory to claim the second point for ASU on Court 3, followed by Morlet continuing her dominance on Court 1 (6-1, 6-3). Clinching the match for the Sun Devils was Turkovic, who cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 victory on Court 2.

Spaka was able to have her third shutout set of the day, winning her match 6-0, 6-3 on Court 5. Junior Rachel Hanford, who slid into the starting lineup for this afternoon match, earned her third victory of the season after fending off the opposition in a 6-1, 7-5 win on Court 6. On Court 4, it was Argyrokastriti who finished off the Lumberjacks for good with her 6-2, 7-5 win.
