TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Beach Volleyball has added five new Sand Devils for the 2024 season, four experienced beach players that will help the Sand Devils continue to make noise.

Annalyse Askew
Wilmington, N.C. | Eugene Ashley HS | 5-9
  • Played club for Sinjin Volleyball
  • First Team MEC All-Conference 4A
  • First Team All-Area Star News Varsity
  • Her parents are Broden and Lynnette and she has one older sister, Julianna.
  • Her parents both played sports at the University of Mount Olive, her dad playing baseball and her mom playing both volleyball and basketball. 
  • Her sister is currently playing indoor volleyball at East Carolina. She previously played indoor and beach volleyball at North Florida.
  • She is planning to study business with a finance concentration. She hopes to become a financial advisor.

Ava Haughy
San Ramon, Calif. | San Ramon Valley HS | 6-0
  • Played for Golden Gate Beach Volleyball Club.
  • Took first place at the 2021 Monterey Beach Open Championships.
  • Finished in first place twice at the AVP Nationals Qualifier in Santa Barbara in 2022.
  • Qualified and finished ninth at AAU Junior Olympics 2022.
  • Has won CBVA/AVP Santa Cruz events four times.
  • Finished in second place at the 2022 BVNE College Recruiting Showcase.
  • Took second place at the 2022 AAU Hermosa Beach Open 2022.
  • Played indoor club for six years at NorCall Volleyball Club and attended junior nationals.
  • Her parents are Jeff and Abby. She has two older siblings, Alex and Kyle.
  • Her brother Kyle is currently playing basketball at Diablo Valley College.
  • She plans to study a degree relating to communications. 


Elsa Snipes
San Anselmo, Calif. | Archie Williams HS | 5-8

  • Took second at the 2022/23 BVCA Orange County Club Challenge.
  • Has experience playing with fellow signee Ava Haughy at the 2022 BVCA National Championships.
  • Plays for Golden Gate Beach Volleyball Club.
  • Her parents are Mara and Richard. She has a younger sister Sadie, who also plays volleyball.
  • Mara ran the 800 and 1,500 for the University of Michigan track team. Richard has played indoor and beach club volleyball in addition to coaching. 

Ava Williamson
Dripping Springs, Texas | Dripping Springs HS | 5-11
  • Played club for Texas Volleyball Team (TVT).
  • Played indoor volleyball as a right side hitter for Dripping Springs High School.
  • Named to First Team All-District in her junior year and second team her sophomore year.
  • First Team All-District in academics her sophomore and junior year.
  • A dual-sport athlete, she is the school record holder in the high jump and qualified for state in that event.
  • Her parents are John and Donna. She has two siblings, Audrey and Scott.
  • Her dad played basketball at UTSA and Baylor. Her sister Audrey currently runs track at Baylor. 
  • She plans to study business and have a minor in Spanish.

Deanie Woodruff
San Diego | Point Loma HS | 5-11
  • Played club for Wave Beach Volleyball.
  • At Point Loma High School, she has played both indoor and beach volleyball, where she is a captain on the beach team for the upcoming 2023 season.
  • She was named to the 2021 and 2022 JVA National Beach Watch List. 
  • She is CBVA AA rated after taking first place in the 2022 Long Beach Women's A tournament.
  • Took first place at the 2022 18U Kauai Bikini Open in Santa Monica.
  • She has 14 CBVA first-place finishes.
  • She won the 2022 AP Scholar Award.
  • Her parents are Michael and Kimberly and she has one younger brother, Drew.
  • She plans to study microbiology and mycology in postgraduate studies.
