BUDAPEST - This Sun Devil is a world champion and world record holder! Justin Robinson is bringing home a gold medal from the World Athletics World Championships after helping Team USA to a world record finish in the 4x400 mixed relay. With Robinson leading off, the squad of Rosey Effiong, Matthew Boling and Alexis Holmes finished in 3:08.80, besting Great Britain by 2.26 (3:11.06). Robinson is the first Sun Devil to earn a World Championship medal since Ryan Whiting took silver at Moscow 2013 and Dwight Phillips earned four over a five-meet stretch from 2003 to 2011. Robinson's leadoff split was 44.47 which ties his lifetime 400m open personal best from the 2023 U.S. Championships.
