TEMPE – The six-time national champion Sun Devil Triathlon squad will bring its spring season to a close on Saturday with nine student-athletes racing in The Gateway Triathlon Cup in St. Peter's, Mo.
Camille Buchanan, Alexe Coursol, Faith Dasso, Heidi Jurankova, Liberty Ricca, Naomi Ruff, Amber Schlebusch, and Evan Welch will compete in the PATCO America's Cup Elite Race, looking to earn world ranking points. This race begins at Noon MST on Saturday and will include 2016 Olympic Champion Gwen Jorgenson and 2020 Bronze Medalist Katie Zaferes.
ASU will also see Madison Judas take part in the Women's Human Powered Health National Triathlon Development Race Series. This sprint race will begin at 8 a.m. MST.
The Gateway Triathlon Cup is one of four races of its kind in the United States, consisting of elite races, elite para races, an age group draft legal race, and more. It is held at 370 Lakeside Park, with events happening April 14-16.
