TEMPE–  Despite being unable to claim the doubles point, Roi Ginat, Max McKennon and Murphy Cassone picked up victories in their respective singles matches as the vigilant effort by the No. 42 Sun Devil men's tennis team 4-3 loss to No. 37 UCLA. The decisive match went to a third set, as the three victories for the Sun Devils were won in straight sets. ASU will stay put at Whiteman Tennis Center against Washington at 6 p.m. AZT.

How It Happened:
  • UCLA's Giacomo Revelli and Timothy Li claimed the first match, 6-3 on court one over ASU's Constantinos Koshis and Jacob Bullard, then the Bruins claimed the first point of the duel in a tiebreaker with Patrick Zahraj and Stefan Leustian, 7-6 (7-3) squeaking by Roi Ginat and Murphy Cassone.
  • Singles play started hot for the Sun Devils. No. 3 Max McKinnon cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 straight sets victory to give ASU their first duel point. Then, No. 6 Roi Ginat concluded his clean play with a straight-set victory to win 6-2, 6-4, earning his fourth straight singles victory to give the Sun Devils a 2-1 lead in the duel.
  • The Bruins was able to claim their second duel point on court No. 7, after Spencer Brachman climbed back in the second set, but fell 5-7. The Sun Devils were able to respond with their third singles victory with No. 1 Murphy Cassone earning a hard-fought straight-sets win over Patrick Zahraj, 7-5, 6-3.
  • The deciding matches both went to three sets, after ASU dropped the opening set, Jacob Bullard fought hard with a 6-2 second set but fell in the final set 3-6. Then Constantinos Koshis responded by winning the tiebreak 7-6, but fell 1-6 in the final set.
