TEMPE, Ariz. – After a weekend off following a 2-1 record in the ASU Invitational, No. 15 Sun Devil Water Polo (8-8, 0-1) stays home to defend their home pool in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation matchup against undefeated No. 1 Stanford (14-0, 2-0). The contest is slated for Sunday, March 26 at 1:00 pm MST and will be streamed via the Arizona State Livestream. Live stats for the game can also be found in Linktree.
The Sun Devils have been led by freshman attacker, Juliette Dhalluin, who most recently was named MPSF Newcomer of the Week after a dominant showing in the ASU Invitational where she recorded 15 goals, 10 assists, 8 steals, and 5 drawn exclusions. Her most impressive showing was in Sunday's win over Marist, where Dhalluin tallied a career-high 6 goals and a career-high 6 assists, which would have broken the point record had junior attacker Luca Petovary not set it the day before.
The Cardinal on the other hand are capping off a two week break from play after defeating MPSF opponent, No. 4 UCLA to extend their win streak to 14 games this season. The Cardinal have had a player named MPSF Player of the Week four out of the 10 weeks and have swept the weekly awards twice.
ASU is no stranger to the Cardinal this season after facing them in their home pool back in February in the 8-12 defeat. In that game, the Sun Devils led after the first frame, but a five-goal second quarter was the difference in the game. Dhalluin notched five goals in the game, and her freshman counterpart Sophie Shorter-Robinson had three of her own, making them the first pair of teammates with a hat trick against the Cardinal since April 2022.
