IRVINE– No. 7 Sun Devil Water Polo (5-3) is back on the road this weekend to compete in UC Irvine's Barbara Kalbus Invitational, and will play three games over the span of the weekend including their weekend-opener against No. 11 Indiana (12-4) on Friday, February 24 at 4:00 pm MST. There will be no live streams, and live stats may be limited, but all updates can be found via Twitter and Sun Devil Water Polo's Linktree here.
The seeding is based off of last week's CWPA Varsity polls, the Sun Devils will be competing in Group B with No. 2 USC, No. 11 Indiana, and No. 23 LMU. All tournament information including rosters, game schedules, and fan information is available here.
The team will face Indiana in the opening round, and the final games of the weekend will be determined by the outcomes of that first game. If ASU beats the Hoosiers, they would face the winner of the USC-LMU game, and a loss would have them facing the loser of the two.
That second round takes place on Saturday, and the first game of Saturday takes place at 11:30 am MST. Regardless of the outcome, ASU would play two games on Saturday, as a win in the 11:30 game would have them back in action at 5:00 pm MST, and a loss would put them in the 6:15 pm MST game.
The Sun Devils come off of two weeks of rest, but are no stranger to the 16 team tournament after competing in the competition last year. Their conference foe and first-round competition isn't either, and comes off of four wins in their Indiana Classic to boast a 12-4 record on the season.
