SAN DIEGO – In the first tune-up of the spring season for Sun Devil triathlon, Faith Dasso placed fifth in a field of 54 at the Tritonman Draft Legal sprint race on Saturday.
Dasso was the lone competitor from Arizona State to compete this week as the team builds up its spring training. She completed the race in 1 hour, 7 minutes, and 9 seconds.
"Only one member of Sun Devil tri racing today, but a strong one!" ASU Head Coach Cliff English said after the race. "Very happy with Faith's performance and notably her swim and run performances."
Dasso was the first racer out of the water after completing her swim in 10 minutes and 19 seconds. Her time of 34:30 in the 20-kilometer bike ride was the 17th-fastest, but she closed with the fifth-best time in the 5-kilometer run at 21:20.
The ASU spring season will continue on March 4-5, with five Sun Devils participating in the Clermont Challenge in Clermont, Fla.
