TEMPE — The Sun Devil softball team will open the 2023 season next week, and they will do so, ranked No. 22 in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll.
The poll features seven of the nine Pac-12 teams, including No. 2 UCLA, No. 12 Arizona, No. 14 Washington, No. 17 Stanford, No. 19 Oregon State and No. 24 Oregon. ASU finished 2022 ranked 11th after winning its first Pac-12 title since 2011 and advancing to the Super Regionals.
D1 Softball also listed freshman right-hander Kylee Magee as one of the top 55 freshmen to watch this season.
Along with the No. 21 ranking in the NFCA poll, the Sun Devils were ranked 25th in the Softball America poll that was released last week.
The Sun Devils will open the 2023 campaign in San Diego on February 9 with games against CSUN and San Diego State at the SDSU Season Kickoff.

Prior to the season starting, Sun Devils fans can get a sneak peak of the team when they host an Open House on Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. at Farrington Stadium.
