TEMPE, Ariz. – No. 10 Sun Devil Water Polo is set to open the season this weekend, Jan 13-15, in the season-opening Cross Conference Challenge Tournament which has taken place in Tempe in four of the last five seasons. The visitors, No. 7 Michigan, California Baptist, Azusa Pacific, and Biola are all slated to face the Sun Devils this weekend, and three of the four games will be streamed via the Arizona State live stream.
Per the Collegiate Water Polo Association preseason polls released on Wednesday, the Sun Devils checked in at 10 on the Top 25. Michigan has the top ranking among teams in the Cross Conference Challenge at 7 while California Baptist and Azusa Pacific each received votes.
The Sun Devils will open the year with a doubleheader on Friday, January 13 with a 10 am contest against California Baptist, and a midday matchup at 12:40 against Azusa Pacific.
Saturday, January 14, ASU faces Biola at the Sun Devil Fitness Complex, along with the three other neutral site games, and this is the lone game of the weekend for the Sun Devils that is not going to be streamed, however live stats will be available.
To close out the weekend, No. 7 Michigan will be the fourth and final game of the weekend for the Sun Devils on Sunday, January 15 at 9 am MST.
