NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - Sun Devil Lacrosse was once again recognized for an outstanding year in the classroom as the IWLCA announced their 2022 Academic Awards.

Sun Devil Lacrosse was selected as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for the fifth consecutive year. To achieve this distinction, the team had to finish with a combined GPA of 3.2 or higher.

In addition to the team award, 15 Sun Devils earned a spot on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, establishing a new program record. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

Arizona State had the most honorees of any team in the Pac-12 Conference. In the four seasons of the program, a total of 33 Sun Devils have earned this distinction. Here are the individuals that accomplished the feat this year:

Katie Brodsky, SR - Clinical Exercise Science
Kaylon Buckner, SR - Supply Chain/Business Entrepreneurship
Emma Carlson, GR - Legal Studies
Emily Glagolev, GR - Biomedical Engineering
Brynn Holohan, JR - Criminology & Criminal Justice
Maddy Hunter, GR - Healthcare Innovation
Tess Keiser, JR - Journalism & Mass Communications
Olivia Kroah, SR - Human Nutrition
Kylie Kroeger, GR - Organizational Leadership
Morgan McCaffrey, GR - Emergency Management Homeland Security
Emily Munro, GR - Digital Audience Strategy
Sydney Payne, SR - Chemistry
Taylor Pinzone, GR - Applied Leadership and Management
Maria Villanti, GR - Global Security
Anna Winkeler, JR - Biochemistry

Academics has long been a priority for the Arizona State Lacrosse program. Don't expect this academic prowess to change under the direction of new Head Coach Taryn VanThof, who stated in her introductory press conference, "I'm a big proponent of 'student-athletes are more than student-athletes', they're people first. We want to make sure we develop them as people, students, athletes and even as a unit."

After establishing a new high for Honor Roll selections last year, the Maroon & Gold once again delivered in the classroom in 2022. The IWLCA Academic National Honor Roll comes on the heels of the announcement that 17 members of Sun Devil Lacrosse landed on the 2022 Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
