The Sun Devils are coming off a close 4-3 loss to San Diego. The doubles point went to San Diego, with ASU duo George Stoupe/Moritz Hoffman recording a 6-2 win at No. 3. McKennon/ Salle lost to the 59th-ranked duo of August Holmgren/Guilherme Osorio. Head coach Matt Hill said he knew San Diego's doubles teams were going to be tough to beat, but he believes the team performed well. In singles competition, Cassone upset No. 1 August Holmgren in straight 6-4, 6-4 sets. ASU recorded wins on courts one, three and five from Cassone, McKennon and Jacob Bullard.

Pepperdine is currently sitting at 2-3, but both losses have been decided by just one point. That includes their most recent loss against Tulsa which ended with a final score of 4-3. Their wins have come against #14 Arizona, #24 Harvard and Oklahoma State. Pepperdine currently has a couple of ranked guys in No. 9 Daniel De Jonge, No. 22 Pietro Fellin, No. 32 Andrew Rogers and No. 91 Tim Zeitvogel. The Waves do not have any ranked doubles pairs.
