TEMPE, Ariz. – Coming off of a historic team score and win last weekend, No. 15 Sun Devil Gymnastics welcomes the top team in the Pac-12, Cal Berkeley, to Tempe on Sunday, February 27, at 5 p.m. MST.

Sun Devil Outlook 
No. 15 Arizona State (3-3, 3-2 Pac-12)
  • Last weekend, Arizona State defeated then-No. 15 UCLA for the first time since 2001 while eclipsing the seventh-highest team score in program history with a 197.800. ASU is one of seven teams in the NCAA to have scored a 197.800 or better this season. Overall, 12 routines scored at least a 9.900, and 15 routines either set new or tied career highs.
  • During Sunday's meet, Emily White won the all-around with a career high 39.600 for the first time in her career at Arizona State. Her performance earned her the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week nod, the third weekly award of her career and first this season.
  • Junior All-American Hannah Scharf has been consistent for the Gym Devils, having done the all-around in every meet. In the latest NQS rankings, she is No. 2 in the all-around. So far this season, she has eight scores of 9.900+ and six event titles. Following the historic win over No. 15 UCLA, she earned the Pac-12 Coaches Choice of the Week. 
  • A season ago against Cal, Arizona State earned their best road score since 2003 with a 196.650 and finished in second place to Berkeley. The Sun Devils' last win over the Bears came in 2020 when ASU edged out a win by .050.

Opponent Outlook 
Cal (6-0, 5-0 Pac-12)
  • Cal most recently defeated the Arizona Wildcats 197.575-196.025 in Berkeley. En route to the victory, Cal recorded their sixth-highest score in program history. 
  • Nevaeh Desouza took second place in the all-around against Arizona with a  39.525. She placed first on vault with a 9.900, and fourth on floor with a 9.900. As a team, Cal recorded a 49.350 on floor, good for their best score of the year. 
  • In 2021, current senior Maya Bordas was the national champion on the uneven bars and she competed with her team at the NCAA National Championships.
