TEMPE, Ariz. - Sun Devil Men's Basketball will play in the second leg of a two-game homestand at Desert Financial Arena against SWAC opponents.
 
Arizona State (5-1) hosts Alcorn State on Sunday at 3 PM MST. The Sun Devils look to continue improving upon their 35-7 in non-conference home games under Bobby Hurley

HOW TO FOLLOW
Tune-in to Pac-12 Networks at 3 PM MST to watch Sun Devil Men's Basketball take on Alcorn State. All 31 of Arizona State's games this season will be televised, with Coach Hurley's squad making appearances on ESPN, FOX, CBS, and Pac-12 Network in addition to several major network affiliates. 5-1 START
Arizona State defeated Grambling State, 80-49, on Tuesday night to move to 5-1 on the season. Devan Cambridge paced the Sun Devil offense with 16 points, joined by DJ Horne (15), Frankie Collins (11) and Warren Washington (11) in double figures. Bobby Hurley, son of Head Coach Bobby Hurley, closed out ASU's scoring with his first collegiate triple with :51 left in the game. It is the fourth time since 2010-11 (past 13 seasons) that ASU has started 5-1, with the three previous teams going on to make the NCAA Tournament (2018-19: 7-0, 2017-18: 11-0, 2013-14: 6-1, 2012-13: 8-1).

THREE POINT DEFENSE
Grambling State shot 1-8 (12.5%) from three-point distance in the first half, bringing ASU's season first half three-point defense to 10-56 (17.8%). Arizona State is now holding opponents to 26-115 (22.6%) from long distance through six games this season.

LOCKING IT DOWN
The Sun Devil defense was historically good against Grambling State, holding them to just 26.6% mark from the floor. It was the was the lowest by an opponent since ASU held Arkansas-Pine Bluff to 29.7% on 10/28/12. It's the seventh time in the last 10 seasons ASU has forced an opponent to shoot under 30% from the field.

SUN DEVIL SWEEP
Sun Devil Men's Basketball swept the weekly conference awards for 11/14-11/21, as the Pac-12 announced their player of the week winners on Monday afternoon. Desmond Cambridge Jr. was named Pac-12 Player of the Week following an incredible week at the Legends Classic. Austin Nunez received Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors after providing a spark off the bench in two wins. Arizona State won the Legends Classic Championship thanks to victories over VCU and No. 20 Michigan. It is the 11th and 12th time a Sun Devil has won a Pac-12 Player of the Week award under Bobby Hurley

CLOSE CALLS
ASU has played in a two-possession game in its first three of its first five contests, boasting a 2-1 record. The Sun Devils are now 25-12 in two possession games over the last three seasons, the most wins in the Pac-12.

BALANCED SCORING
A signature of the Arizona State offense has been the different individuals stepping up at the offensive end. The Maroon & Gold are averaging 73.7 points per game and three different Sun Devils are scoring 12.5 point or more (D.J. Horne, Frankie Collins, Marcus Bagley). Eight different individuals average at least 5.0 points per game and have scored in double figures in at least one game.

BLOCK PARTY
Arizona State continues to find themsleves near the top of the nationalr game. The Sun Devils had six blocks against Michigan compared to zero by the Wolverines. Eight players have recorded at least one block this season, led by Warren Washington's 2.0 per game.  ASU's 30 blocks this season are the most through six games in a season since 2013-14 and the third-most since 2003-04.
