TUCSON, Ariz. – A back-and-forth game that saw six lead changes ended in a 38-35 Arizona victory at Arizona Stadium, ending the Sun Devils five-game winning streak in the series. Arizona State showed a ton of heart all afternoon, overcoming multiple double digits deficits to take a lead in the fourth quarter.

Despite facing a 10-0 deficit early in the second quarter, ASU didn't flinch, led by their quarterback Trenton Bourget. They scored touchdowns on the next two drives and secured a 14-10 halftime lead.

The Wildcats answered with an opening drive touchdown in the third quarter and the scoring seesaw continued. Both teams combine for 35 points and 439 total yards.

The Sun Devils took a fourth quarter lead with a four-yard touchdown reception by Jalin Conyers, but Arizona responded with another rushing touchdown on the following drive.

Two turnovers in the final 3:17 put an end to another epic comeback attempt in Tucson.

"In crucial areas (there were turnovers) a couple of times in the red zone," said head coach Shaun Aguano. "And then at the end of the game, we thought we should have closed it out. We needed to get probably 10 more yards to get us into that field position to get the kick but those mistakes do kill us. It's an emotional game, I get it. People are in each other's faces, there's personal fouls. It's just the love for the game. And that's just the game of football. But those turnovers were really hard (to overcome)."

Trenton Bourguet was one pass shy of his career-high in completions, finishing 37-of-49 with 376 passing yards. It's the most passing yards by a Sun Devil quarterback in a Territorial Cup game since Brock Osweiler in 2011.

X Valladay's impressive one-year career as a Sun Devil came to an end with 24 rushes for 97 yards and two touchdowns. He finished the season with 16 rushing touchdowns, tied with Eno Benjamin for the fourth-most in a single season by an ASU running back.

Kyle Soelle's five-year Sun Devil career came to an end, in which he played in 53 games. He has the most career tackles (110) in a single-season for a Sun Devil since 2017, (Christian Sam, 127). Soelle's 141 career solo tackles are the eighth-most in program history and most since Salamo Fiso (204; 2013-16).

The Sun Devils have still won 10 of the last 14 games in the series and are now 18-10 against Arizona since 1996.
