TEMPE, Ariz. – One of the most electrifying three-day stretches in the 2022-23 season is next on the slate for Sun Devil Swim & Dive, which is off to the annual NC State Invite at the Greensboro Aquatic Center from November 17-19.

Competition will begin each day with preliminaries (7:30 a.m. MST) followed by the evening finals session (3:30 p.m. MST).

Follow along with the action with live results via the Meet Mobile app. A landing page for live results, if made available, will be shared with fans prior to the meet.

Due to conference rules, live streaming is unavailable.

Joining the Sun Devils, plus host NC State, in Greensboro are Duke, Stanford, Penn State and Army. UNC-Asheville and George Washington will also be there, albeit competing in just the diving portion of the meet.

The Sun Devils have some fond memories of their time in Greensboro – especially from the work they put in at this same midseason invitational a season ago.

LOOKING BACK
The Sun Devils' showing at the three-day invite last year was historic for a number of reasons. Aside from both the Men's and Women's team storming to top-five finishes, 10 school records were broken.

It was also one of the first introductions to then-freshman Léon Marchand, whose time of 3:35.62 in the 400 IM was the fifth-fastest time in NCAA history and the second-fastest by a freshman.

(Spoiler: Marchand would go on to break his own record not once but twice throughout the remainder of his rookie year.)

BEST 400 IM TIMES IN SUN DEVIL MEN'S HISTORY
1. Léon Marchand, 3:34.08 (NCAA Championships, 3/25/2022)
2. Léon Marchand, 3:34.45 (Pac-12 Championships, 3/4/2022)
3. Léon Marchand, 3:35.62 (NC State Invite, 11/19/2021)
4. Léon Marchand, 3:37.97 (NCAA Championships, 3/25/2022)
5. Léon Marchand, 3:38.87 (Pac-12 Championships, 3/4/2022)

NEXT UP
When the Sun Devils wrap up in Greensboro on Saturday, they'll have officially put a bow on the 2022 calendar year.

They'll resume eight weeks later with a Women's team home meet against Washington State on Friday, January 14. It's the start of a four-meet homestand – all against conference opponents –  to close out the regular season.
