Self, who has coached Seton Catholic Preparatory's basketball team for 30-plus years, was honored for her outstanding contributions to girls' basketball. She has guided the Sentinels to 12 state titles, 17 championship game appearances and 26 consecutive regional championships, all while racking up 775 career wins.

Before her career on the sidelines, Self was a four-year starter for the Sun Devils in the early 1990s, while also competing in track and field as a thrower for a pair of seasons.

Self is one of the highest scoring Sun Devils in Women's Basketball team history, having left Tempe with 1,224 career points. She also ranks within the program's top-ten for most assists in a single season, as she dished out 155 in 1989.

She has cemented herself as one of the most impactful figures in the Arizona girls' basketball scene, having also coached the Girls West Team for the 2020 McDonald's All-American Game.

Self was also one of seven Sun Devils nominated on the ballot for the class of 2022.
