Road Matches At No. 15 UW and WSU This Weekend

TEMPE, Ariz. – After a two-week homestand, Sun Devil Volleyball is back on the road as they travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on No. 15 Washington on Friday at 6 p.m. MST before taking on Washington State on Sunday at 11 a.m. MST.

Sun Devil Outlook
Arizona State (9-11, 3-5 Pac-12)

• Last weekend, the Sun Devils swept Cal on Friday and came up short to No. 7 Stanford in four sets in their second-straight weekend at home.
• Senior pin hitter Iman Isanovic has 1,223 career kills and is still in sole possession of 12th place in the record book. Ahead of her is Mindy Gowell (1987-91) with 1,260 kills. She needs just 73 kills to break into the top 10. 
• Isanovic also leads the team with 252 kills on the season with junior Marta Levinska right after her with 213. Sophomore outside hitter Geli Cyr joins them in triple digit kills with 151 on the season and same with junior middle blocker Claire Jeter with 117. 
• Junior outside hitter Roberta Rabelo had strong showings this weekend as she had 11 kills on Friday against Cal and a season high 12 kills on a .345 clip against Stanford on Sunday. 
• The setting duties this season have been split among Shannon Shields and Ella Snyder. Snyder leads the team with 360 assists this season and Shields reached exactly 1,000 career assists on Sunday against Stanford.
• On defense, Annika Larson-Nummer has reached double figures in digs for eight of the last nine matches, including the last five in a row. She has 145 digs on the season and fellow libero Jaden Ravnsborg leads the team with 182 digs for this season.

Opponent Outlook
No. 15 Washington (14-4, 6-2 Pac-12)

• Over the weekend, the Huskies split the two teams they played as they were swept by Utah on Friday then picked up a four-set win over Colorado in Boulder on Sunday. The weekend prior to that, UW picked up a win over then-No.12 Oregon on October 9 in a five-set win over the Ducks. 
• Senior setter Ella May Powell of Washington was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week on September 26 and has also been named Pac-12 Setter of the Year twice. 
• ASU is looking to get back on track in the series against Washington, having dropped the last three matches. The Sun Devils last took down the Huskies in a sweep over then-No. 8 UW back in January 2021 to open the spring season.
• Head coach Sanja Tomasevic played at Washington and led the Huskies to a national championship in 2005. She is in the Husky Hall of Fame.

Washington State (13-6, 5-3 Pac-12)

• The Cougars split their trip to the mountain schools as they were defeated by Colorado in four sets on Friday and won in straight sets over Utah on Sunday. WSU additionally picked up a win over then-No.12 Oregon in five sets on October 7 at home. 
• After averaging 2.71 blocks per set and having a team-high 3.57 kills per set against Stanford and Cal, senior middle blocker Magda Jehlarova was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week on October 3. 
• The Sun Devils are seeking their first win over WSU since a four-set win in 2019 over the then-No. 22 Cougars in Tempe.
