TEMPE, Ariz. – Both men's and women's Sun Devil Swim teams were named by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America to the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2021 semester, the organization announced in a press release Tuesday.

The selection recognizes teams who post top GPAs, and the Sun Devil men's and women's teams posted GPAs of 3.56 and 3.61, respectively. Teams with GPAs of 3.3 or higher are eligible for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings.

"Coach Bowman demonstrates that a team can be successful in the pool AND the classroom. These 63 men and women are some of the best ambassadors that Arizona State and the Pac-12 could ask for," CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart said.

The Sun Devils were two of 728 teams in the country to be named to the Scholar All-America Team, representing more than 18,000 student-athletes. Of the selected teams, the Sun Devils were two of 519 programs to earn 3.30 GPAs or better.

Five schools from the Pac-12 Conference had both its men's and women's teams selected, including Cal, Stanford, USC, Utah and ASU.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
