FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas - The season's still alive for 11 Sun Devils! Sun Devil Track and Field closed out the NCAA West Prelims in Fayetteville, Arkansas celebrating Jorinde van Klinken and Adriana Tatum earning qualifying spots in the discus and 200m dash, respectively. All 11 NCAA qualifiers will compete at the NCAA Championships June 8-11 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The group includes four true freshmen in Dayton Carlson (800m), Ralford Mullings (discus), Justin Robinson (400m), and Adriana Tatum (200m). Transfers Gamali Felix (400m) and Jeremy Cody (high jump) are also first-year Sun Devils who punched their tickets to the national meet. This is the most athletes head coach Dion Miller has brought to Nationals in his short tenure following the nine who competed last season.

ASU's 11 didn't just hit qualifying marks, they reshuffled the program record books too. Carlson is fourth all-time in the 800m now, Tatum is second in the 200m, Cody is tied for ninth in the HJ, Felix is ninth in the 400m, and Mauri improved his already third all-time mark by one second. Robinson was .01 away from tying the 10th-place 400m time too.
Adriana Tatum and Ralford Mullings are two of the best freshmen in the country. Tatum's 22.77 is the second-fastest 200m time ran all season behind Oregon's Jasmine Montgomery (22.74). Montgomery ran that one heat before Tatum. Mullings has been one of the top-3 best discus throwers all season. He took silver at the Pac-12 Championships and was No. 2 in the west (and third nationally) entering the preliminaries. He's had the third-best prelim throw at 60.86m behind California's freshman Mykolas Alekna (64.87m) and Clemson's Roje Stona (63.28m).
